Sustainability at Fair Harbor

Protecting the Places You Love

Everything we make starts with the water.

The coastlines we return to. The early swims, the long afternoons, the places that shape how we spend our time.

That connection isn’t abstract. It’s the reason we do this at all.

Built with better materials.

From the beginning, we’ve focused on using fabrics that do more with less. To date, we’ve repurposed over 37 million plastic bottles and turned waste into something functional, comfortable, and made to last.

By using recycled materials, partnering responsibly, and committing to lower-impact practices, we’re returning the favor to the coast that inspires us.

“We’re not here to make more things. We’re here to make better ones.”
–Fair Harbor

But materials are just the starting point.

We design with intention, focusing on durability, versatility, and pieces you’ll keep in rotation for years. The goal is simple: make something you’ll wear longer, and ultimately need less of.

Accountability, built in.

Becoming a certified B Corp™ took over two years. It represents what matters most to us—building a strong business while keeping people and the planet at the center of every decision.

Fair Harbor meets B Lab’s standards for social, environmental, and governance performance. That means we measure our impact, hold ourselves accountable, and build with purpose from the inside out.

In fact, according to reports,* B Corps are 3.1 times more likely to track their social and environmental performance through defined KPIs (key performance indicators) compared to traditional businesses.

Designed for the long run.

We’re committed to using high-quality, lower-impact materials produced in small batches to minimize waste. That includes recycled polyester, organic cotton, Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) cotton, and seawool—each chosen for how it performs and how it’s made.

Recycled Polyester

Lightweight, durable, and quick-drying, made from plastic waste that would otherwise end up in landfills or oceans.

Organic Cotton

Soft, breathable, and grown without harmful pesticides, supporting healthier soil and longer-lasting fibers.

Seawool

Made from discarded oyster shells and recycled bottles, is naturally soft, insulating, and antimicrobial.

BCI Cotton

Uses less water and fewer chemicals than conventional methods, supporting more responsible farming practices.

From swim trunks to everyday staples, everything is made to be worn again and again. Because the most sustainable piece is the one you don’t have to replace. So for us, the goal is simple:

Protect the places you love.
