Starting in 2024, Fair Harbor will commit to recovering the equivalent of 100% of our annual plastic footprint and the personal impact of our employees using PCX’s certified collection project that issues plastic credits. Similar to carbon credits, our Net Zero Plastic Waste Certification credits clean up 100% of our plastic footprint. But unlike carbon credits that are typically issued against future impact, our plastic credits are physically measured and issued only after every single transaction is verified.
Our Project
Hotspots around Southeast Asia produce a significant amount of plastic waste, which is why Fair Harbor is investing in the Ocean and Island Community Collection of PET and HDPE Project in Thailand. This project kickstarts a circular plastic supply chain by supporting a growing network of informal waste collectors as they help prevent plastic from entering global waterways.
The Community Impact
Our project offers community-based benefits by empowering people in developing areas where more formalized waste systems aren’t yet available. It also has a positive and immediate socio-economic impact on poor communities and improves their short- and long-term work conditions.
